During the UN Landmine Day on 04 April 2016, the CSU Member of the German Federal Parliament Julia Obermeier attended the premises of DEMIRA in Munich together with the local chapter of the CSU in central Munich on the initiative of Mr. Armin Gastl.

During this roadshow the guests were got a comprehensive insight into the subject of mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal as well into the activities of DEMIRA by our quality manager, Mr. Bastian Winkler. Mr. Gernot Peroutka then informed about the work as deminer and explained the effect of various explosives by using exhibits.

In the ensuing discussion, current developments in the field of mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal were discussed. In particular, the issues of humanitarian organisations in combating poverty and causes of flight in the current crisis areas by the lack of support from the German Federal Government and the German Federal Foreign Office were central themes. The chairman of the local CSU chapter Armin Gastl said: "We are proud to host such an important organisation in our area. It can not be that the life-savers from DEMIRA are appreciated insufficient. We are happy to contribute to that this takes greater recognition."

More than an hour after the event’s official end Ms. Obermeier and Mr. Gastl thanked the hosts the for successful performance and expressed their hope for a longer fruitful cooperation on this issue.
