Aid to refugees in Iraq

DEMIRA supports refugees in northern Iraq after their escape from the IS troops

Aid to refugees in Iraq

Since the invasion of the troops of the Islamic State (IS) in northern and western Iraq more than three million people have been displaced within the country, not even considering the enormous number of refugees who have sought protection in neighboring countries, as well as the refugees from Syria.

In fleeing the violent excesses of the IS, these people had to leave everything behind in order to save at least her life and that of their families. Particularly affected are the communities of Christians, Yazidis and Shiites, but also moderate Sunnis.

DEMIRA assists the people in Kurdish regions of northern Iraq and supports the work of local humanitarian aid workers to make the life in the refugee centers bearable and informs the people about potential hazards.
